Haley's Reflections

India seems to be a topic that I hear about a lot, whether it be in the news, in school, or in a book, and I am so excited to be able to finally, after hearing about it for my whole life, see it for myself. I have just finished reading a book for English class that is looking at the situations in the slums of Mumbai, and it had me really wanting to do something to help change the prospects for the underprivileged in India. Which is why I am so excited for our trip.

One reason why I am especially excited about our missions trip is that aside from helping the kids at the Little Flower Children's Home in tangible ways such as painting, we are also playing with them, loving them, and teaching them, and I think that the memories of the times we will have with them and the lessons that we learn from each other will last a lot longer than the coat of paint we will have given the walls.

I am so excited to meet and play with the kids there, as I know they will be wonderful, and that I will end up learning so much more from them than they ever would from me.

Haley is a grade 9 student at Chinese International School. She has participated in one other Community Church missions trip. She really enjoys acting and theater.
