What's all this about?

This blog is to keep our friends, family and supporters in the loop about our upcoming mission trip to Pedong, India.  We are a group of High School (Secondary) students who are passionate about serving the world.  Keep up with our preparation, and with our adventures while we're on the trip.  We'll post prayer requests fairly frequently as well!

Here's a little bit about the trip:

Why India?
The children’s home we are serving in India is a very special opportunity for us, as it is owned and operated by the parents of one of our members. 

We feel that God calls us to not only serve Him on a trip once per year but with our lives.  We are excited about the opportunity to strengthen our partnership with Inner City Ministries (a ministry serving the South Asian community) here in Hong Kong.

We have a heart to reach out and help our brothers and sisters across the world and to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all people. 

About India
India is home to 1.24 Billion people.  It is projected that in 2050, India will have the largest population on earth, even surpassing that of China.

Only about 2.3% of the population in India are Christian. 

West Bengal, where we will be serving, has only .06% of the population identifying as Christian.

India is in the 10/40 window, an area of the globe identified by missionaries as having the most poverty combined with the least amount of access to Christianity.  These areas are considered critical for missionary work.

How you can help:

You can join us in praying for our trip.

 Specifically we need prayer now for the Children's home where we will be serving, for the pastor and his wife who run the home and for the teachers and students.  We would love prayers for the students who will be attending and for the leadership team.  We would also love prayer for all of the logistics, flights, etc.  Finally, we need a lot of financial provision to make this trip possible!  Prayers for financing would be much appreciated.

You can partner with us by investing in the trip financially

We use the word investing intentionally.  We believe that when we train students in the way they should go when they are young that these investments will last throughout a lifetime.  Consider partnering with us financially in the following ways:

Sponsor a full or half scholarship ($9000 or $4500HKD)

Become a stockholder by purchasing a stock from a trip participant (details to be announced soon)

Sponsor a Kilometer - There are 2630 kilometers from Hong Kong to Pedong, India.  Consider sponsoring one or more kilometers.  This is a great way for you to get your kids and family involved as well! Each kilometer only costs $10 to sponsor and includes a card stating the kilometer you have sponsored that you can put in your Bible or on your refrigerator to remind you to be in prayer for us!
